Anyone else play live dealer through the night shift?

Genuine question for the insomniacs and shift workers — anyone else on a live dealer table between 2am and 5am Atlantic? It's becoming my whole personality.

I'm a nurse at the QEII in Halifax, working 7-on-7-off nights this rotation. When the floor is quiet I'll pull up a roulette table on my phone in the break room and just watch a couple of spins between rounds. It's the only thing that exists at that hour, and the dealers are weirdly chatty at 4am, which I appreciate.

Anyone else? Or am I just becoming the casino's most predictable customer.

Miami here, but balcony-roulette at 3am is a whole vibe so I feel you. The dealers ARE different overnight. I think the regulars get filtered to specific tables and there's a lot more banter, fewer drunks barking from the chat. It's almost civilized.

You're not predictable, you're just the kind of customer that means the dealer doesn't have to host a dead table for two hours. The line is the line, the night crowd's just better at reading it.

Victoria, BC, so my 3am is your 7am. Different reason but same idea — knees are wrecked so I read on the couch and put one earbud in on a live dealer stream like it's late-night radio. Don't bet much, just listen to it. The Pragmatic shows have these hosts in Bucharest who are professionally chipper at all hours and frankly I admire them.

Anyway, not bad, not bad. Welcome to the club, Nadia.

Vegas. Yes. I work hospitality and finish shifts at midnight. I'm on a live dealer table by 1:30am almost every night. The irony of living in Vegas and gambling online from my couch is not lost on me but I refuse to walk down the Strip on my day off.

3-5am the European live tables are basically a different product than the daytime crowd. Way fewer rage-quits in the chat. Leafs in six btw.

Seattle PM here — used to be a heavy night-session player when I had a remote European team. The 2am crowd has the best UX honestly. Tables load faster (less network congestion), the dealer rotations are calmer, the side-bet promos are gentler. Live dealer at peak hours is straight up a worse product.

Hospital shift work is a different beast though. Take care of yourself Nadia, the casinos will still be here when you're rested.

Henderson NV. Dealt blackjack in the pit on Strip overnight shifts for years before I switched to online poker. The overnight player base is a real community. Different stakes, different mood. Less posturing.

One piece of advice from someone who watched a lot of dealers at 4am: the live dealer chat moderators are awake too. They're real people. Be nice to them and they'll be nice to you. I dealt to worse, but the night crowd was always my favorite.

Reading all of this on my break right now. Thank you all — this thread is exactly what I needed at 3:42am. Going back on the floor in ten minutes, will catch you on a table later this week.
