Site feedback: search is broken on threads older than 6 months

Heads up to whoever runs the back end — the forum search box returns zero hits for threads that are more than ~6 months old, even when I search for exact title strings I know exist. Tested with three threads from 2024 that I personally posted in; all return empty.

Direct URL access to those threads still works fine, so the threads are indexed; it just looks like the search is only querying recent content. Indexing window misconfigured maybe? Easy fix probably but worth flagging because right now there's a lot of good archived content that's effectively invisible.

Show me the license, sure, but also show me a search box that actually works.

Replicated. Searched for "withdrawal speed" and got 4 hits, all from the last 5 months. Searched for the same string in a 2024 thread I bookmarked and the bookmarked thread is missing from the results entirely.

Likely a recent indexer change. Worth raising — the archived discussion is genuinely the more valuable corpus. Data-driven. No hype. (And no search results.)

Confirming the issue. I tried to dig up an old bonus-math thread from last spring and couldn't surface it via search at all. Direct URL worked. The math is the math but the indexer isn't doing the work right now.

UX nitpick while we're filing bugs: when search returns zero results there's no "try fewer terms" or "include archived threads" affordance. Just a blank page that makes you think you typed wrong. The error state is half the search experience and right now there isn't one.

The UX is the tell. Fix the search, fix the empty state.

Same. Tried to pull up the cross-border-account discussion from last fall, search whiffed. The archive being invisible is a real problem because half the value of a community forum is the older threads still answering newly-asked questions.

Filed in my head as bug #1, also Willow's empty-state point as bug #1a. Whoever maintains this — appreciate the platform, please fix the indexer.
